ACT RUN FOR THE RAINFOREST 5K

Arlington, VA - Marymount University (Ballston Campus)

A USATF-certified Marymount University 5K course will take runners along the Bluemont Junction, W&OD and Custis trails of Arlington VA.

Location: The race will be held near the Ballston Campus of Marymount University (1000 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22201); the start line is directly across the street behind the Holiday Inn. The finish line is near the Marymount building (start/finish line within a block of each other).

Water stops, food, commemorative item, overall, and age group awards will be provided.

Volunteering:

We will need approximately 75 volunteers to conduct the event. All volunteers will receive the official Run for the Rainforest T-shirt.

$20 Early Bird Registration through April 30th. May through June 21st $25. All registrations are non-refundable.

Start: On trail, 55 ft S of sidewalk, at bike helmet sign on W side.

1 km: 32 ft before first path to N Harrison St. on right.

1 mi: 130 y past Kensington St, 135 ft before path to 5th St.

2 km: 12 ft past path to RR display; 14 ft before tall pole #266/245

2.5 km: 1.5 ft N of "Four Mile Run 1.5 Mi" post on left; 100 ft past metal railing on right

3 km: 153 y after R turn onto Custis Trail, beside rec center on right; 48 ft before light pole #CO818/QD82

2 mi: 208 ft past post #33, which is at juncture with path from playground on L; 8 ft before LP #RD76 on left.

4 km: Alongside St. Ann's Church parking lot on left; 8 ft past light pole #CO818/WD59 on left; 163 ft before Frederick St. path

3 mi: 31 ft past beginning of brick-paved sidewalk; 3 ft before large sign post, #000067 on left

Finish: N Wakefield, 350 ft N of W Fairfax Dr, even with extended parking lot wall on E side, 36 ft past centerline of road on W side
